Zendaya has hired a former Take Me Out contestant as her new bodyguard. The Hollywood star, 26, famed for her role in Marvel's Spider-Man films, has reportedly enlisted the services of an ex-Royal Marine called Joel, who once appeared on the ITV dating show back in 2019.

And Joel was seen by her side as she enjoyed a private shopping spree at a Vivienne Westwood store in London last week.  He also minded the Euphoria actress at a Bulgari event in Venice last month. 

During his time on Take Me Out, presented by Paddy McGuinness, Joel described himself as a 'real-life action man looking for an outdoorsy kind of girl, who does also like a cozy night'.

The hunk, from Kettering, Northamptonshire, told the ladies: 'My shirt is always crisp; my meal is always served on time. I may have a tough job, but I’ll also make the perfect house husband.'

And while he initially made a great impression with most of the ladies keeping their lights on, some girls quickly switched off when he declared he treats his housework like a military operation. 

In his VT, Joel told the ladies that he loved fancy dress and was even seen on a night out with his pals dressed in a hotdog costume. He then added to the camera: 'Let this tough guy show you his soft side.' 

Meanwhile, in the next round, he further impressed the wome when he showcased his muscular arms after stripping to his black vest to undertake the Take Me Out assault course.
