Scarlett Johansson was taken on a trip down memory lane as she was quizzed about her first husband Ryan Reynolds, when speaking to Gwyneth Paltrow on her Goop podcast this week.

The 38-year-old Black Widow star couldn't contain her giggles as Gwyneth, 50, said she had forgotten all about the star's marriage to the Deadpool hunk - who is now married to Blake Lively.

Ryan, 46, and Scarlett were married for two years after tying the knot in 2008 and then divorcing in 2011. She later admitted she 'didn't really have an understanding of marriage' at the time as she was only 23. 

'You've been married two times? Three times?' Gwyneth asked Scarlett, who confirmed it was the latter. Gwyneth then gushed excitedly: 'Oh that's right! I forgot that you were married to Ryan Reynolds! Goals!'

She then spoke about her current husband, actor Colin Jost, giving insight into what makes it work. 'I didn't know what I wanted or needed from somebody else,' Scarlett said. 

'I never realized, "Oh, it's really important for me - I need to be with a compassionate person." 'That's a fundamental characteristic that has to be there,' she revealed about her relationship.
